Clydesdale Estate is part of the Marsden Park Precinct located 49km north-west of the Sydney central business district. It is within the Blacktown local government area and is part of the Greater Western Sydney Region. Clydesdale Estate is currently divided into six precincts, each with its own distinct characteristics including residential villages, sporting fields, and a heritage conservation site. The proposal for Precinct 2 of the Clydesdale Estate includes 22 medium-density residential buildings across 8 lots, each with dedicated communal open space for the residents on-site and ‘Green Links’ containing opportunities for further amenity to the community as a whole.
With a focus on place-making, the buildings and the public realm have been planned and organised to promote a legible, safe, and connected precinct and to further enhance the residential nature of Precinct 2. Drawing on the history, natural and built attributes of the site, and the notion to create a diverse range of buildings, the architectural design language adopts a range of apartment typologies, articulated facades, integrated open space, and pedestrian-orientated connectivity, to deliver a successful outcome for this precinct.
